Well, it’s 2:30 on Thursday afternoon, and we’ve just left the consultant at the hospital in Kent.
It was very much like the KCH doctor yesterday, but more so. More emotional, and more intense.
Dr Gurung, emphasised that I am in total remission … yes absolutely total remission, with totally undetectable Myeloma.
From here on, I’ll be on a very low dose of the Lenalidomide – which probably and hopefully will have very minor side-effects.
So we are free to do whatever we want to do.
The medication will be couriered to us, and I will just have a blood test once a fortnight. So far fewer trips to hospital.
The meeting today was really quite emotional, and when we were about to leave hospital we rang the bell to indicate that so far we have beaten this horrible disease.
We are both slightly in shock, and really quite tired now, but incredibly HAPPY.
I was asked today “how do you feel?” … the only word that I could think of was “NEW” … a bit like this …
Hooray,
Fabulous news!
