I am a bit tired of all this chemical stuff, and wish that there was a more sophisticated treatment … but I’m glad and grateful for what’s available right now.
Today I was out with Mandy, and called in to have coffee with Max. Suddenly I was being complained to, for not keeping track of my Hubble Bubble stuff. So here’s the latest …
Worry 1 – fatigue which kicks in rapidly and I know affects my mobility. It’s strange, but if I have a little sleep I can walk a little bit better.
Worry 2 – as I’ve mentioned, my medication includes an anticoagulant called RIVAROXABAN. One of the side-effects of this drug is weakening of legs, and I’m absolutely convinced that that’s what’s happened to me.
There is a replacement drug called Apixaban, and that apparently doesn’t have this effect.
I do plan to ask whether it’s worth/viable/sensible changing medication.
The biggest, and most tiresome problem for me is lack of mobility; and having a dangerous wobbly walk.
I am definitely going to contact my consultant about this – TOMORROW!
Just for info … Mayo clinic state that fairly common side effects of Rivaroxaban are >
- Back pain
- bleeding gums
- bloody stools
- bowel or bladder dysfunction
- burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, “pins and needles”, or tingling feelings
- coughing up blood
- difficulty with breathing or swallowing
- dizziness
- headache
- increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
- leg weakness
- nosebleeds
- numbness
- paralysis
- prolonged bleeding from cuts
- red or black, tarry stools
- red or dark brown urine
- vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds
I suppose I’m quite lucky really 😊
