Pre-launch tests …

Thursday and Friday were a fun days!

On Thursday we set off to the Hospital’s Nuclear Medicine Department for, as a start, a radio active jab ☢️

Then off to the the Hospital’s Dental Institute – Level 3 Surgery, for a dental checkup to make sure that my teeth won’t kill me when I my body has zero immunity.

After that, to the Dental X-Ray team to inspect the insides of all my teeth.

Then Back to Level 3, where I’m surrounded by FIVE dental surgeons!

What do you call 2 dentists? … A Brace 🙂

What do you call 3 dentists? … An Amalgam 🙂

What do you call more than 3 dentists? … A Nightmare 😬

Well, this nightmare of dentists eventually declared me tooth fit!

After that, back to Nuclear Medicine for a blood test, to check how my kidneys were coping with the radio activity.

Then, time for a coffee and small cake 😋

Followed by two more trips to Nuclear Medicine for more blood tests, over the next three hours.

And eventually home, to Kent.

What a day! I’m expecting a glowing report ☢️

Friday arrives, and we set off for our London Hospital, again 🙄, and a blood test.

Bloody hell! TEN little bottles of blood are required.

Once that’s done … it’s coffee, small cake 😋, and relax time.

BUT, after that it’s time for a meeting with the transplant team about the 17th October 😬

And here we discover that the transplant will be going ahead as planned, provided that there are no bed availability problems.

YES …

It’s all going ahead!

If they have a free bed

That’s what they said

It’s going ahead!!!!!

Every detail was discussed, and the meeting was really very, very helpful.

I’d been a little anxious beforehand – but was relaxed afterwards.

Amazingly, because I’ll have absolutely no immunity, I can have visitors.

But I’m guessing that they’ll have to be thoroughly sprayed with very strong disinfectant 🙂

Home by 7:30 pm after meeting finish at 2:15 pm 🙄. The driver took us on an extended tour of Kent … and we are very very tired.

At the moment, this whole process feels a bit like sorting out the details for a Gruesome holiday, where the staff have a +10 Star rating … but the entertainment is rated -17 Stars!

I am still very, very grateful x
