Hello everyone!

This is the first post for the Hubble Bubble blog. Why Hubble Bubble? I hear you wonder?

Well, in Shakespeare’s play ‘Hamlet’, Three Witches dance around a boiling cauldron, as they add ghastly ingredients to a truly horrible concoction and sing (or croak) the words “Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and caldron bubble

I recently needed to start having Chemotherapy, and my imagination took me to the three witches as a possible source of chemotherapy chemicals 🙂 I joined the witches in their song with my words … HUBBLE BUBBLE 🙂

  4. Monday 22nd August 2022 .
    6.30am Good morning 😊
What a difference a day makes , I’m Steve’s wife and we are treading this unknown path together . It is a shock to start Chemo but with lovely weather and lovely garden to share we are doing fine .
Stem cell harvesting they said in a couple of months( what’s that) ? at end of chemo ! Well the books and leaflets we were given and also the ones we requested from the “Myeloma UK” were so very clear and helpful . Made the mind boggle but it was as we thought a long way off
However , we’ve done the first bit and here we are ,at Kings College for Stem Cell harvesting .
Chemoand other drugs reduced Steve’s mobility a lot but with physio help we’ve come through. ( Steve had prior hip replacement problems ) so all reading this – don’t think it will necessarily happen to you.
Hospital Transport from door to door has been a wonderful help . Those drivers are so kind and patient , helps take some of stress away.
Yesterday was a long long day and sorry to say not enough stem cells were gathered so off he went again at 6.15 this morning for a second
    Harvesting to be done .
We stay positive all the way , that’s not to say some days we don’t sit and wonder just what has and is about to happen ! The dedication of all staff involved has been wonderful. Still stepping stones ( we don’t want boulders ) ahead but we know we are lucky to be part of this programme 😊😊
Sorry if I rambled just needed to put pen to paper as they say to help Steve get his blog under way. Also help maybe help calm nerves that jingle jangle at times like this . I’m sure at some point I’ll write more
( look out) 🤣and I know for sure Steve will be adding lots of detail and info for all those that need an insight as they take this course .
