A pleasant and very cold icy day.
In the middle of all the pleasantness there’s a phone call from a nurse at our local hospital about the imminent Ken/Chemo 😐
There are lots and lots of questions 😯
And then back to pleasantness 😊
My car alarm turned on and off most of last night🙄. So we’ve battled to charge the battery …
and also to get Mandy’s car ready for an icy 🥶morning trip to hospital tomorrow.
And then, the phone goes again, and it’s a doctor from King’s College Hospital.
He’s called to check on everything, before ‘Ken’ kicks off. I’m feeling very looked after🥺
He went through all of the questions that I was asked yesterday, and this morning, and a lot more 😬
He also said that at the end of Ken/Chemo they’d complete a biopsy into my pelvis to check for the thing that we don’t like talking about🫣
If they found that I was in partial remission (his words), I’d be given a Hubblebubble drug called Lenalomide to maintain the remission 🙂🙂
Apparently in terms of vaccinations, I’m like a baby!
I can have Covid vaccinations in about 10 weeks time, and all the kids vaccinations (chicken pox, smallpox etc) in about 6 months time💉🤪
That’s more to look forward to 🙂
Well once again I say what a difference a day makes
We’ve had so many phone calls checking up on Steve
Are you ok? Eating? Drinking? Sleeping? Walking? Breathing?
Are you taking pain killers? Do you have nausea ? The list goes on, and of course the obvious “Are your bowels working?” etc 🤣🤣they seem to always leave that till last! They must have so many pages of info on him !!! Doctor said
“your doing so well for day 64” 👏
And so he is 😊.👏🏻
Wonderful to be having treatment and care but I’m a bit sad that chemo is starting so quickly. We thought we had till after 100 days isolation.
Just getting used to having an “almost normal“ man about the house 🤣
Now unfortunately as and from Monday he will be a little absent at times and most certainly tired !
Not nice enough weather to be put out in the garden to sleep even wrapped up in hat scarf gloves and blankets x 🤣
Have to be the lounge for a bit 🙄😘
You see we know now what to expect.
Last time we were beginners and sometimes I think that’s good x
But we are a long way down
Recovery Road and that certainly feels nice.
We did a little smooch in the kitchen to celebrate 😊
Thursday is another bloods and doctor day we think ?
All feels rather “Alice in wonderland“ stuff at the moment not sure who we are going to meet next.
